Caspa Codina prepares his "With No Plans"

Comfortably back on his disco-saddle after an extended sabbatical, Caspa Codina’s latest single is 3 -minute wonder of dance-able contemporary art-pop. Following on from the 70s disco vibes of the previous single, ‘With No Plans’ travels into the 1980s, taking inspiration from the likes of Talking Heads, Feargal Sharkey, but with Gabriel Olegavich’s contemporary production values.

‘With No Plans’ sees Caspa in a desperado-lover scenario; he’s lost everything in pursuit of the woman he loves, and despite a sequence of verbal slip-ups and public humiliations, he still can’t give up on his love. Despite the modern production, there is a strong human element in this song: from the driving Rickenbacker Bass Guitar line, to the rich analog synths, the Linn Drum Machine, 80s tom-toms, funky guitars, and the brilliant backing vocals of Natalie Paris & Jerusha Frimpong; as well as a host of atmospheric sound effects (from magic sticks to dog barks, camera clicks to thunder-strikes).

This is contemporary pop that sounds fresh and new, yet brings back the missing humanity that much of today’s over-processed, hyper-programmed music lacks. Dive into this catchy yet self-effacing journey and let Caspa Codina take you on an unforgettable sonic ride that is both intimate and anthemic.
