Dina Summer presents Children Of The Night
There’s something wonderfully cinematic about Dina Summer’s Children Of The Night. The record moves between sleek Italo disco, cold EBM rhythms and darker new wave without ever losing its sense of melody.
“Burning Heart” is perhaps the most immediate example of their pop instinct, while “Fuel” and “Komodo 3000” bring a tougher, more physical edge. The title track feels like the perfect midpoint: dramatic, hypnotic and unmistakably made for the night.
What really works is the balance between darkness and fun. Dina Summer never take the gothic aesthetic so seriously that they forget about hooks, groove and personality. Children Of The Night is stylish without being sterile, nostalgic without sounding stuck in the past.
