Innovative sound designer/producer/live artist Enrico Sangiuliano posted a call-out for aspiring remixers of his startling techno manifesto ‘The Techno Code’ back in June, an amazing opportunity for new/emerging talent. Now he releases his pick of the entrants in 5-track ‘The Techno Code (Community Remixes)’, out 6^th November on his prestigious NINETOZERO imprint.  

Enrico’s original spoken hymn to the genre won accolades aplenty in April as part of NINETOZERO VA EP ‘Discipline’ and in July spawned a remixes EP featuring techno luminaries like Charlotte de Witte. 

Enrico Sangiuliano – ‘The Techno Code (Community Remixes)’: 

Argentina’s psytrance/melodic techno exponent Demon Noise adds extra acid, beats & bass up front, a relentless onslaught of builds & drops, whereas Dutch trance veteran Cor Fijneman (has made tracks with Tiësto, Montana…) slows the beat and adds a deep, booming reverb pulse while upping the melodic element. Argentinian & Teiko Warehouse resident Rhotek goes for breaksy kickdrum, distorted organ-like chords and voice, for a more staccato feel, while Venetian new name Malengo brings the voice up front, remixing the lyrics to fit his version, which is speedy, driving, with extra echo. Belgium’s fresh talent, futuristic trance man Zockraze, chooses a fast, liquid flow, strongly melodic but with extra urgency in the main theme. 

The Techno Code has seemingly taken on a life, or lives, of its own, a tribute to the talent and originality of Enrico Sangiuliano.
