Kito Jempere presents Part Time Chaos Part Time Calmness

Kito Jempere’s latest album, Part Time Chaos Part Time Calmness, chronicles his journey from the club scene into a more introspective, genre-spanning soundscape. Known for his influential career in house music, Kito’s work has resonated in dance clubs and festivals. Yet this new album sees him evolving into the world of downtempo pop, crafting what he calls “the soundtrack for a movie I’ve never made,” blending house, pop, and folk to reflect his transformation as an artist and father.

This project is steeped in nostalgia, beginning with the familiar strum of his old guitar, which anchors tracks like “Killer Line” and “Love Myself But I Can’t Make It Love.” Enlisting guest artists like Jimi Tenor and Adam Evald, Kito enhances each track with rich textures. The album is a reintegration, merging his house-focused past with the complexities of his life today.

Opening with “Killer Line,” a soulful folk ballad, the album spans styles, moving through jazz-infused flamenco on “Before Music Dies” to coastal synthwave vibes on “Sounds of Love.” With nods to pop culture in tracks like “In The Countryside,” the album is a cinematic experience that brings listeners along on Kito’s journey.

Breaking away from club production conventions, Kito’s songs range from polished synth anthems like “Absent Ascent” to serene ballads like “Shorespotting.” Each song is a snapshot of his journey, capturing his growth as he embraces life’s changes.

Part Time Chaos Part Time Calmness is a reflection of Kito Jempere’s evolution, exploring the delicate balance between chaos and calm in life.
