Lawrence Hart, UK-based DJ, producer, multi-instrumentalist & science/tech maestro, enlists Italian-born producer and NTS resident Giulia Tess for their third collaboration, hooky dance-fuelled ‘LOSE CONTROL’, out October 14th. It’s a second tasty bite of his forthcoming club-perfect 12-track mixtape ‘ASKING FOR A FRIEND’ on Domino’s Double Six imprint, a full throttle, fast trip throughout, fortified with elements of UK Bass and post-dubstep. The digital-only full mixtape drops November 14th just after Hart’s November 11th headline show at Hackney’s Oslo (London).

Hart’s first mixtape single ‘LIVING WITHOUT U’ won big DSP support across Spotify, Apple, Amazon, Deezer, plus from BBC Radio 1’s Danny Howard, Sian Eleri and Jess Iszatt … after April’s debut LP release gained acclaim from Danny Howard, Jack Saunders, Pete Tong, Lauren Laverne, Mixmag, MusicRadar, Sian Eleri, Jess Iszatt, Jaguar, Rinse, DMY.

New Single ‘LOSE CONTROL’: a tumbling, joyfully unpredictable dancefloor cut – featuring melodic interludes amongst breakneck percussion and pitch-shifted vocals.

Mixtape ‘ASKING FOR A FRIEND’: says Hart, “I wanted to make something for the club, faster, more stripped back, exploring sounds and ideas that satisfy the more techy side of my writing. It still encompasses that vulnerable/emotional side but in a much tougher vehicle. I’ve enjoyed writing at faster tempo and focusing more on sonics. It was also lovely to put some collabs [Giulia Tess, Meg Ward, Mera Bhai] on there. I’ve been a big fan of Giulia since her ‘200417’ EP. We had instant synergy in the studio.”

Giulia Tess is a valued part of the London underground scene, with an NTS residency and sets at venues like fabric, Phonox, Hi Ibiza, Lost Village, and support from BBC, Rinse, DJ Mag and Mixmag. Tess pulls the sonority of leftfield electronica into percussive music in a refreshing and effortless way; challenging, thrilling and rewarding. She’s worked with Max Cooper, Ross From Friends, Art School Girlfriend, and released on Mesh, LG105, He.She.They and more. Says Giulia, “when we're in the studio Lawrence and I just get into a flow state. We knew what we wanted to write almost without speaking. The process is very natural for us. The track came together easily and expresses my love for the club scene.”

For his final London headline live show of the year at Hackney’s Oslo, Lawrence will be joined by Giulia Tess debuting her very own live show, plus a DJ set from Meg Ward, known for lighting up dance floors at Drumsheds, Warehouse Project, Ibiza, Reading/Leeds.
