Universal Roots is a meditative, multi-dimensional compilation that invites the listener to explore the fundamental sounds of memory, identity, and cosmos. It’s not just a musical release—it’s a statement about our collective human experience, captured in five distinct sonic expressions.

“Lato Mare” by go-Dratta opens like a breeze through an open window. Using the raw, unfiltered spontaneity of children’s improvisations and the warmth of piano, the track conveys a deep love for life in its purest forms. It’s environmental music in the true sense: shaped by the place, the people, and the moment it was created in.

Magna Pia’s “Lachin” is a masterclass in subtlety. A reinterpretation of an Uyghur folk song, it doesn’t modernize the original—it honors it. The melody breathes with restraint, drawing attention to the emotion between the notes. “Lachin” is the sound of cultural remembrance done right: quiet, but powerful.

Saba Alizadeh’s “I Roared My Justice” is the compilation’s emotional epicenter. A haunting blend of modular synthesis and processed Kamancheh frames a voice recording from an Iranian political prisoner—a raw, resonant cry for justice in Farsi. This track is more than music; it’s an audio documentary on pain, dignity, and resilience.

From the human to the cosmic, TON 618’s “Magnetar” draws its data from an actual astronomical object, creating an ambient texture that feels both alien and eerily beautiful. The track pulses with star-born frequencies, revealing how abstract music can still feel emotionally grounded—even when it originates in deep space.

Closing with “Legacy” by CNS, the compilation comes full circle. A celebration of generational continuity and endurance, the piece is rich with symbolism and gold-hued textures. It sounds timeless—like the echo of ancient rituals through a contemporary lens.

Universal Roots is more than a listening experience; it’s an invitation to feel, remember, and imagine.
