Aberdeen-born, Glasgow-based duo t e s t p r e s s return to UK soil with a powerful new release, out now via Teletech. The two-track Daddy EP features the long-awaited fan favourite “Daddy” alongside new cut “Crank It” - a double dose of high-octane energy built for peak-time dance floors.
Best known for their signature high energy fast paced dunts, t e s t p r e s s have spent the past year deeply embedded in Europe’s evolving rave scenes. Inspired by the energy of their own live sets, the pair have developed a hybrid sound - somewhere between hard techno, trance and hard bounce - that pushes beyond the UK’s more defined lanes.
Made a year ago title track Daddy marked a shift in t e s t p r e s s' creative direction. Keen to break away from the softer, euphoric side of Euro Dance, they leaned into something with more drive and grit. At the time, they weren’t quite sure where the track fit, but as their sound evolved and they became more embedded in Europe’s hybrid techno scenes, Daddy started to land differently, earning its place as a standout moment in their sets.
Crank It, the second track on the EP, followed earlier this year. Cut from the same cloth but built around a vocal from a different era, it carries that same direct, high-energy feel. Rounding off a release that nods to where they’ve come from while locking firmly into where they’re headed.
t e s t p r e s s have cemented their place as one of the UK’s most exciting club acts, with a with recent highlights including Tomorrowland 2024, Parklife, TRNSMT, Terminal V, FLY Open Air (Boiler Room 2023) and BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend. Following a debut Australia tour earlier this year, they’ve
continued to tear through Europe and the UK with standout sets at Warehouse Project, Watergate, Mondo Disko, Club Ost, Bootshaus, Gotec, and Kilomètre25. On top of that, they’ve landed major support across Spotify and Apple Music playlists and received ongoing radio backing from BBC Radio 1’s Sarah Story, Jaguar, Danny Howard and Pete Tong, plus guest features and playlist support from KISS FM and MistaJam.
